“Profits are better than wages!”

Those were the words from the great Jim Rohn, that ignited my already long-smouldering desire to be an entrepreneur.

Jim Rohn was introduced to me by my Herbalife sponsor, when I tried out MLM as a ‘side hustle’, alongside running my Personal Training studio.

That was back in 2005, and since then, Jim Rohn has been my ‘go-to’ any time I needed to hear some words of wisdom.

Understanding what those words meant have led me on a roller-coaster journey through entrepreneurship.

I’m hooked!

I don’t think I’ll ever want to get off the ride!

Looking back, I think the fascination with business and money started when I was a kid.

I remember, when I was 8 or 9, I started making keyrings out of clay and selling them to my friends for 50p each.

Then throughout my teens, I was the only one of my friends that had an after school job, a weekend job, and worked during the Summer holidays.

In my late teens and early twenties, I tried a bunch of ideas, including rebuilding PC’s from scrap parts and reselling them, and setting up a website for amateur bands (in the early days of the internet).

My twenties and thirties took me through a mix of fitness management, personal training, corporate management, finance & accountancy, and sales.

Many of those things have run parallel to each other.

In fact, I think I’ve had something else going on alongside my ‘real job’, for most of my life.

That is, up until 8 years ago, when I found something that was worth going ‘all-in’ on.

I joined the founder of an online startup, as full-time employee #1, the COO, and a stakeholder in the company.

We helped Dads to lose weight, build muscle, and improve their health, through online fitness programs.

Over the past 8 years, we grew the company to multi 7-figures per year in revenue, a remote team of 18 people, over 51,000 customers, and a social media following of over 1 million.

We also created a sister company too, doing the same things for Mums, and got that to high 6-figures per year revenue, over 11,000 customers, and around 450,000 social followers.

The journey was awesome.

I learnt so much, and I gained a huge amount of experience in the online space.

At the beginning of 2024, I decided it was time to take that knowledge and experience and build something of my own.

So I sold my stake in the company back to the founder, and embarked on a new mission!

”Your ideal customer is you 5 years ago”

In my case, my ideal customer is me around 17 years ago!

As I mentioned above, I had my own personal training studio between 2005 - 2008, and it was a GRIND!

I loved the job of being a Personal Trainer, but the constant see-saw of balancing my time and my income was a nightmare.

I had to take client bookings when I could, because I needed the money to pay business and personal outgoings.

But that often meant taking bookings in the evenings and at weekends, and sometimes during family celebrations.

I couldn’t take a holiday, because that meant time away and zero income!

If you’re a sports or fitness coach reading this, then I’m sure you know what I mean.

The constant hamster wheel of trading time for money can sometimes be soul-destroying.

That’s why I’m making it my mission to help sports & fitness coaches create time and financial freedom, by showing them how to build online courses of their own.

The past 8 years have shown me the benefits of online courses on both the coach and their students.

The coach gets to build a resource that can help their students fulfil their dreams, even when they aren’t in the room.

In turn, they get paid well for their efforts, over and over again… for years!

The student gets to achieve their transformation, solve their problem, or learn the skills they needed the course for. It truly is a win : win!

I genuinely want to help them be in a position where they have more time and financial freedom, a better work/life balance, and can take time away without having zero income.

I’ve been on the side of trading time for money, and it truly sucks!

I’ve also been on the side of seeing large amounts of relatively passive income be earned.
